A booklet giving guidance on the key concepts of experimental design. "This guide describes the main concepts that are involved in designing an experiment. Its direct use is to assist scientists involved in the design of on-station field trials, but many of the concepts also apply to the design of other research exercises. These range from simulation exercises, and laboratory studies, to on-farm experiments, participatory studies and surveys." Part of a series of statistical guides by The University of Reading Statistical Services Centre, which were originally written as part of a contract with DFID to give guidance to research and support staff working on DFID Natural Resources projects. They provide guidelines for staff involved in the development and presentation of research projects. The guidelines are intended to help researchers to identify their biometric or statistical needs.
