RHoMIS - the Rural Household Multi-Indicator Survey This is a survey that uses standardised indicators to characterise rural households. The main advantage of Rhomis is that it offers the user a questionnaire that includes indicators that have been tested and have been accepted as useful by a large number of users and stakeholders. Rhomis offers the ODK forms, the paper questionnaire and some R scripts to pre-process the data collected, but also there is the opportunity of support from the Rhomis team if the user accepts that the data they collect can become part of the multiple country database of rural households characteristics that Rhomis is building. Among those indicators are the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES), the Household Dietary Diversity Score (HDDS), the Hunger and Food Insecurity Access Scale (HFIAS), Food Availabilty (FA), and the Progress out of Poverty Index (PPI). All of these have further documentation available from elsewhere and need to be adpated to the context where the survey is to be conducted. It is worth exporing their website for more information.
