'Data Collection in a time of COVID-19'. A short guide giving advice and suggestions on alternative methods for data collection when the intended personnel are unable to visit locations to collect data as originally intended. This guide was developed as an urgent response to disruption to research activities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it includes principles and suggestions that could be useful in other situations that require a change of plans, such as transport or budget difficulties. It is intended for use by researchers and those involved in farmer-participatory research. The document was produced by the Stats4SD team as part of the Research Methods Support project for CCRP. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced projects and FRNs to change plans, and two projects teams of the CCRP ES Africa CoP asked us for help with the problem, prompting the research and thinking that led to this guide.
