This recording is of a webinar given by Stats4SD. In this penultimate webinar, Alex Riba discusses hypothesis tests - what they are, and what they can tell you. As part of this, he explains the concept of a p-value, how hypothesis tests link to confidence intervals, and gives some (semi) formal definitions of null and alternative hypotheses. He also explores a set of practical examples to discuss how to apply hypothesis testing as part of a real analysis. This webinar was hosted by WorldFish for the Gender & Breeding Postdoctoral Fellow Initiative. It was funded by the CGIAR.
