Dated: April 2024
Author: Beth Medvecky
In this meeting of the FRN Working Group, Beth Medvecky shares her observations from working with an FRN called "Rural Farmers Research and Development Network", which is implemented by farmers. Based in south-western Kenya, the FRN has been investigating the use of tephrosia to treat chickens to protect them against parasites and diseases. The presentation discusses how they plan and conduct their research activities, and what the trade offs are for research when farmers are making decisions about the FRN research based on their own priorities and values. This trove includes links to two videos: the first is Beth Medvecky's presentation, and the second is a recording of members of the FRN sharing the results and findings from their research.
