Description

Dated: January 2023

Authors: Ric Coe , Shiphar Mulumba , Steven Vanek

The FRN Research Methods sessions are designed to share experiences and emerging ideas on research methods that might be useful to translate the ideas coming from our FRN Working Group meetings into research practice. The sessions will generally follow-up on the FRN WG topic with work on related methods, including training and practice components and discussions. This recording is from the first FRN Research Methods session for 2023, which built on the discussions held at the FRN WG meeting on 26th October 2022, in which a team from the Andes working on improving forage and fallow options shared their learning about which farmers tend to participate more (or less) in participatory research processes. In the FRN RM session we looked the research methods and tools utilized in this work, how they contributed to the learning and the potential use of these and other methods to understand who is participating in our research.
