This guide provides a general introduction to using entities in ODK Central. Entities can be thought of as individual data collection units such as farms, households, plots, etc. which will have attached information that must be passed between several forms within the same project. They are especially useful for longitudinal surveys and projects with various different forms. This overview is detailed through two examples covering each stage of using entities including modifying XLSForms, setting up the project system on ODK Central and collecting data through ODK Collect or Enketo. Additional topics covered include setting up the map appearance for single select questions and uploading entities manually to the server. The example forms and csvs used in this guide have also been provided.
