This free, self-paced, online course describes the process developed by Stats4SD and the Agroecology Fund to create evidence-based cases for agroecology for grassroots organisations. The course summarises the learning from a pilot when grantees of the AEF produced a handful of cases between 2020 and 2022. It is available to complete in English, French or Spanish. New users will need to register for a free account on our courses website, then can select the language before beginning.The course is structured into four modules, including an introduction and modules for the suggested steps to build a case. It uses case examples from the pilot run and adds interactive exercises and checklists.Aim: The aim is to provide a clear idea of what an evidence-based case is and increase the capacity of grassroots organisations to propose and develop cases that persuade audiences about the efficacy and importance of agroecology.ObjectivesThis course will:Summarise the definition and purpose of an 'evidence-based case'.Provide examples of evidence-based cases and discuss how they have been put together.Emphasise the importance of developing a case that is targeted to a specific audience.Explain how to develop an evidence-based case for agroecology, and select and present evidence to effectively communicate to a target audience.Demonstrate a step-by-step process through which a case can be developed.Prepare users to develop their own evidence-based case.
